Biog
Howard Dobson set out freelancing in 1992, initially
writing for Hull Daily Mail and other local publications in the East Riding of
Yorkshire.
In 1994, he joined the Press Association at Howden,
working in teams that compiled TV pages for national and regional newspapers.
After three months in Provincials, he progressed to Nationals,
working on the Daily Mirror, Daily Mail, Daily Express, Daily Star and Daily Record.
By the summer of 1995 he was back freelancing and to
date has written for over 70 publications, including Yorkshire Post, The
Northern Echo, Telegraph & Argus, North West Evening Mail and The Star.
In the mid-90s he complemented freelance writing with
freelance editing.
At present he is freelance assistant editor of Farming
in Yorkshire and Farming in the North for Yorkshire Post Magazines, and edits a
series of Christian news websites for Strawberry Corporate Publishing Services.
He continues to write features and news items for
various magazines and newspapers and uses a bank of writers for some of the
business-to-business work.
